Nov. 14, Wednesday -- Drew S. Days III, solicitor general in the Clinton administration, will give the Barrett Lecture on Constitutional Law at the UC Davis School of Law. The lecture at 4 p.m. in the Kalmanovitz Appellate Courtroom, Martin Luther King Jr. Hall, is free and open to the public.

Days is the Alfred M. Rankin Professor Emeritus of Law and Professorial Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He formerly worked on the staff of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and as assistant attorney general for civil rights in the Carter administration.

His UC Davis lecture is titled "Equalizing Equality: The Canadian Record After Three Decades of Constitutionally Authorized Affirmative Action."

Edward L. Barrett Jr. served as founding dean of King Hall. The lectureship in his name was established in 1986 to mark his retirement and the law school's 20th anniversary. More information:
