How do you let thousands of prospective students look around campus when they’re unable to travel? UC Davis’ Undergraduate Admissions team answered that question this fall with a virtual tour that lets visitors see more than a dozen locations on campus. They can go inside California Hall or stand on Centennial Walk, for example, with 360-degree views of each.
Watch the above video to see how students and staff put the tour together, then visit the virtual tour website.
Ask our mountain lion expert anything
Join UC Davis wildlife veterinarian Winston Vickers and filmmaker Kate Remsen from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday (April 29) on Reddit’s r/IAmA forum (“I Am A...”) and get ready to ask them anything about mountain lions. Vickers is an associate veterinarian for the UC Davis Karen C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center and lead investigator for the California Mountain Lion Project. He teamed up with Remsen to create an online video series on the state’s elusive big cats. Their one-hour documentary California Mountain Lions: The Legends of California, just topped 1 million page views on YouTube. Learn about the major threats to the state’s mountain lions and what may be done to help save them in this online discussion. Reddit users can sign up to receive a reminder message when the discussion begins.

Falcon eggs hatch
They're here! Four peregrine falcon eggs have hatched on the roof of the UC Davis Medical Center (the fourth emerged after this video was posted). Mom and dad feed the young birds and keep an eye on them. Read more about them and watch the live video feed on the UC Davis Health website.
