This year's virtual program of performances, exhibitions, scholar and artist talks, community dialogues, and networking spaces replaces the in-person 2020 National Gathering that was originally scheduled to take place this fall in New Orleans. Registration is now open. A snapshot of some of the performers and speakers who will be part of the programming are: Sunni Patterson, Tank and the Bangas, Carol Bebelle, Arlene Goldbard, Jeff Chang, Michael “Quess?” Moore, Jose Torres Tama, Carlton Turner, Janet “Sula Spirit” Evans, and DG Uprising.
The NEA has approved more than $84 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second round of funding for the fiscal year 2020. Included in the agency's announcement is a “Presenting and Multidisciplinary Art Works” award of $20,000 to Imagining America.
