Crystal Gong 

Crystal Gong is a fourth-year computer science major. She is involved in Model United Nations and boxing at UC Davis. In her free time, she likes to crochet and play new video games.      

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
Definitely the arboretum! It’s such a versatile space!

 

Clover Sutton

Clover Sutton 

Clover is a fourth-year international agricultural development major with minors in education and African American studies. They serve as the Welcome Center’s recruitment team chair and sell avocados at the farmer’s market. In their free time, they read, play video games, thrift and cook!

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Ecological Garden next to the UC Davis student farm!

Christian Balmaceda 

Christian is a second-year community and regional development major. In addition to being a guide, he works as a DJ for KDVS 90.3 FM. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors and likes to try out new restaurants.         

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Hunt Hall Courtyard!

 

Catherine Castellanos

Cathy Castellanos 

Cathy Castellanos is a third-year political science major and education minor. She regularly volunteers at a chicken coop near UC Davis. In her free time, she plays video games and explores new coffee shops with her friends. 

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Entomology Museum on campus where I handle the walking sticks — they are always so cute!

 

Anna Clayton

Anna Clayton 

Anna Clayton is a fourth year history and political science double major and global studies and human rights double minor. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and serves as the executive vice president for the Davis Collegiate Panhellenic Association. In her free time, she spends time in the UC Davis Arboretum and volunteers at the Craft Center! 

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Craft Center! 

 

Sofia Duenas

Sofia Dueñas 

Sofia is a third-year anthropology and art history double major. She works at the Gorman Museum, conducts research in the UC Davis Archaeology Lab, and is a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. In her free time, she likes to hang out in the Arboretum, listen to new music and cook with friends.

What’s the best thing about being an Aggie?
Getting to be a part of our college town community. Everyone in Davis is open-minded, passionate and motivated. This inspires me to be better every day!

Amber Duhs 

Amber is a second-year history major and education minor. She writes for The California Aggie and is in the UC Davis Choral Ensemble. In her free time, she enjoys participating in country swing and line dancing. 

What’s the best thing about being an Aggie?
My favorite thing about being an Aggie is being surrounded by passionate and kind students who make the UC Davis community welcoming.

 

Richard Guan

Richard Guan 

Richard is a third-year managerial economics, communication and psychology triple major. Outside of walking backwards, Richard also supports underserved incoming Aggies as a peer mentor for Aggie Jumpstart. In his free time, Richard who is an LA native, spends his time traveling with friends and exploring small towns and cities in Northern California.

What’s the best thing about being an Aggie?
The best thing about being an Aggie is the supportive and engaging college town community – everyone genuinely wants you to succeed at your own pace.

 

Sam Herzig

Sam Herzig 

Sam is a third-year art history and plant biology double major and German minor. She is an undergraduate researcher who studies millet and vansemberuu, a rare medicinal plant native to Mongolia. In her free time, she loves to drink tea, hike and play cello.

What’s the best thing about being an Aggie?
The best thing about being an Aggie is the opportunity to meet so many interesting and genuinely kind people from all over the world!

 

Chloe Hong

Chloe Hong

Chloe is a fourth year animal sience major education minor. She is an ambassador for the Pre-Health Conference and fosters kittens for Orphan Kitten Project. In her free time, she bakes and goes out to eat with friends.       

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Student Community Center because I often go to study there with my friends!

 

Jyotsna Jha

Jyotsna Jha

Jyotsna is a fourth-year neurobiology and wildlife conservation double major. She works at a research lab studying how climate change affects various bird species local to Davis. In her free time, she reads, hikes and birdwatches.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the part of the Arboretum near the vet school, because you can always find lots of hummingbirds feeding on the flowers there!

 

Sylvienne Karlstrand

Sylvienne Karlstrand 

Sylvienne Karlstrand is a second-year human development major. She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and works as a resident assistant on campus. She paints, reads and explores new study spots in her free time.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
The Women’s Resources and Research Center Library is a cozy space with lots of cool books and they hold amazing events!

Kendelle Lannert

Kendelle Lannert is a third-year environmental policy major and Spanish minor. She thoroughly enjoys being a part of the club waterski team, an a cappella group called the Spokes and volunteering at Aggie Reuse. In her free time, is often at the Activities and Recreation Center, trying new restaurants around Davis or exploring the campus-walking paths. 

What’s your favorite UC Davis tradition?
My favorite UC Davis tradition is Picnic Day aka the best holiday. 

 

Sagnik Nag Chowdhury

Sagnik Nag Chowdhury

Sagnik Nag Chowdhury is a second-year political science and sociology double major. He is a member of the professional pre-law frat Phi Alpha Delta. In his free time, Sagnik loves to watch the newest recommended Netflix show or play pickleball with his friends.       

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Segundo Market because it always has any snack or drink for whatever I'm feeling!

 

Diya Patel

Diya Patel 

Diya Patel is a third-year biomedical engineering major. She serves on the Tour Guide Recruitment Team and is a club officer for one of UC Davis' clubs, B-Hours. In her free time, you can see her skateboarding around Davis or finding a good book to read!            

What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Teaching and Learning Complex steps, it’s the best place to nap!

Ingris Ortiz-Miguel 

Ingris Ortiz-Miguel is a fourth-year sociology and Chicano studies double major. They are employed as a tour guide at the Welcome Center and student intake coordinator at Aggie Compass. They like crochet and puzzles.

The best thing about being an Aggie is all of the genuine connections made throughout the years here!

Estaina Resendiz Ortiz

Estaina is a fifth-year aerospace engineering and political science double major! She is this year's President for the Chicanx And Latinx Engineers and Scientists Society. During her free time she reads and enjoys nature — sometimes both at the same time!

My favorite spot on campus is the redwood groves inside our Arboretum, especially when someone plays the piano!
