An assessment team from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators will visit the UC Davis Police Department at the end of March, to examine all aspects of the department’s policies and procedures, management, operation and support services. The voluntary assessment is part of the department’s goal of being accredited by the IACLEA.

“Accreditation is not just a goal or a destination, it’s an institutional value,” UC Davis Police Chief Joe Farrow said. “A continual self-assessment, partnered with the leaders of our profession, helps assure our policies and procedures remain contemporary and responsive to the communities we serve.”
This is the first time that the campus Police Department has sought IACLEA accreditation. If awarded, accreditation lasts for four years, with annual reports.
