A unique research collaboration involving animal science students, the UC Davis intercollegiate equestrian team and more than 700 hours of video could help enrich the lives of stabled horses.

Embroidered water tower
Instagram video: Campus embroidery
Zahara Embroiders: ”Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.”
After looking at the same embroidery piece for over a month, it’s hard not to notice all the little imperfect details and want to redo all those stitches. But I have to remind myself that this is supposed to be fun and there’s no pressure for anything to be perfect.
In the end, this piece brought back lots of happy memories of college at UC Davis. I don’t visit campus too often, but every time I drive by and see the water towers in the distance, I want to stop the car and go be a student again!
If there are any UC Davis students or alumni who see this piece, hopefully it brings back good memories of your time as an Aggie too.
Meeting the goats
The Goat Teaching and Research Facility is currently home to more than 100 goats, along with some students who live there full time. In the above video, hear from student employees and a staff member about what goes into caring for the goats, why they enjoy working there, and more.
Training in the Edwards Family Athletics Center
See the video below for a tour of the facility, which will be dedicated at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. You can take a self-guided tour after the ceremony, then walk on over to the Staff Assembly Tailgate (4:30 p.m.) and cheer on the Aggies in the UC Davis-Weber State football game (7 p.m.). Read more about the Sept. 24 activities, including Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, entitling faculty and staff to two free tickets to the football game.
