When the bus for the men’s basketball team pulled up in front of The Pavilion Sunday, it was carrying a unique piece of cargo: the Big West Conference Tournament championship trophy.
The night before in Anaheim, the Aggies beat the UC Irvine Anteaters, 50-47, to earn UC Davis’ first-ever appearance in the NCAA’s Division I tournament, otherwise known as March Madness. Next up for the Aggies: a “First Four” play-in game at 3:40 p.m. PDT Wednesday (March 15) against the Eagles of North Carolina Central University. The winner of that game will enter the bracket proper, facing off against No. 1 seed Kansas.
