THE DOWNLOAD: Science Abroad, Manetti Shrem Sculpture Reactions

Studying abroad gave Julia Gulliver the chance to see China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, but it also gave the neurobiology, physiology and behavior major the chance to advance her skills in the health sciences. Reacting to and questioning sculptures

The plaster figures standing outside the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art see far fewer passersby each day than they did before the pandemic, but a group of students spent time questioning and reacting to the sculptures in a recent video.

The video, shared as part of the Manetti Shrem’s “Museum at Home” series, features the members of Catalyst: A Theatre Think Tank asking themselves questions about the feelings the sculptures invoke, and the intent of the artist, Manuel Neri.
