After 14 years, myucdavis for faculty and staff is getting a major face lift, giving users new features and an overall enhanced experience.
The upgrade follows similar improvements to myucdavis for students. That site launched a year ago and has more than 10,000 users daily.
Myucdavis consolidates several UC Davis Web applications and online services into one location. A single login gives UC Davis affiliates access to information, tools and resources relevant to individual academic pursuits or job functions.
Information and Educational Technology partnered with Student Affairs on the technology for myucdavis for faculty and staff. The site is scheduled to go live on Oct. 15, at the same Web address: my.ucdavis.edu.
In addition to a number of new services, the new site will also include the most used faculty- and staff-related services from the old myucdavis site, such as: “Classes I’m Teaching,” “myOffice” administrative services, email access, cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive and Box), campus notifications via Aggie Feed, and access to campus news sources like Dateline UC Davis.
The new mobile friendly myucdavis features a “tile” layout, providing easy access to the user’s favorite tools. There are two “views”:
- AggieView is a static view that displays the “tiles” with the most commonly used services.
- MyView allows the user to create his or her own layout by adding or removing tiles.
The new site also features these buttons:
- New Tiles, which will display tiles as they are developed.
- Popular Tiles, which will display tiles that are the most popular with users.
In the winter and spring, additional campus outreach will be conducted to explore which additional features and functions should be added for faculty and staff. Everyone is encouraged to leave comments and suggestions on the myucdavis feedback tab at any time.
The old myucdavis will remain available to faculty and staff at employees.my.ucdavis.edu until the end of the calendar year
