Drivers take note, if you normally use Russell Boulevard at the north edge of campus: Russell will be closed to through traffic between Anderson Road and A Street during a repaving project on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
"This plan will significantly reduce traffic in the work zone and eliminate the lengthy delays experienced last Tuesday (Sept. 8) during our large patching operation which was similar in scope to the asphalt concrete overlay to be installed on the 15th," said Kevin Burke, inspection supervisor with the city's Public Works Department.
He said the contractor's traffic plan will accommodate drivers who use Howard Way to get in and out of campus. But, everyone else: Be advised that you need to take alternate routes.
Also, be aware that there will be intermittent but unavoidable delays, up to 15 minutes, at the intersection of Russell and La Rue-Anderson roads.
More paving work at the north edge of campus is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 17, on Anderson Road between Russell and Sunset Court; and on Sycamore Lane between Russell and Wake Forest Drive.
