Bruce German has been appointed the new director of the UC Davis Foods for Health Institute.
A professor of food science, German is an internationally known scholar and leader in the field of food and health. He leads a milk genome project on campus that has gained significant financial support and interest because of its interdisciplinary nature.
“Professor German has demonstrated through the milk genome project that collaborations in research across broad disciplinary areas are possible and can lead to much more success than would individual, isolated efforts,” said Neal Van Alfen, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
