UC President Mark G. Yudof will sit down for another Web chat with the staff advisers to the Board of Regents — and everyone in the UC community is invited to participate. The Web chat is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
With the chat coming four days before the general election, Yudof is expected to discuss UC’s financial future in relation to the success or failure of Proposition 30, Gov. Jerry Brown’s tax increase proposal.
Yudof also will take questions, either submitted in advance or during the Web chat.
Yudof’s first Web chat took place last March with then-Staff Adviser Penny Herbert of UC Davis and Staff Adviser-Designate Kevin Smith of UCLA. This time around, Yudof will chat with Smith, who has moved up to staff adviser, and Kathy Barton of UC Riverside, the new staff adviser-designate.
The Web chat is an opportunity for all UC faculty and staff to have an open conversation with Yudof about some of the issues facing the university and its employees.
“With the upcoming election and so many critical issues facing UC and all of higher education,” Smith said, “we wanted to give employees a chance to speak directly with President Yudof.”
